Report: | Sadly, another tough night for Hythe !"Tried hard, could do better" would be the comment on their school report. Phil started brightly against Peter but by midway through the 2nd had run out of ideas and Peter closed in on the win 3-1. The 2 Nicks were close until Nick P entered a lengthy debate regarding what happens if you put your hand up in the middle of a rally (still not quite sure of answer !). The tactic worked and he won in 4. Kayvan v Phil was a good hard hitting contest, but in the end Phil's craft and experience showed, winning 3-2. Ray could not cope with the array of hard hit winners from Chris and uncharacteristically tinned most shots he attempted. Glenn started slowly against Lee, whose unorthodox style was rather mesmerising. It then became much closer although in the 3rd, firstly Lee head butted the wall and a stop was made for a blood injury. Then with bandaged head Lee hit Glenn in the face with his racket before nicking the game and match 10-8. Pleasant evening rounded off with the usual curry and a few beers. |
