| Report: | The night got underway with Simon and Nick at 3. A good battle but Nick was just a bit tighter and was hitting a much more consistent length winning 3-0. Nick was very pleased as I think it was his first win of the season. Up next was Bill and Stuart at 4. Stuart was out of the blocked like a steam train going 2-0 up. Bill steadied the ship getting one back but Stuart was just a bit too good on the night.
Next up was me against the wiley Robin. Had a good game but Robin's nasty lob serve drop combo soon warmed up and proved to be the deciding factor. Hawkhurst up 3-0 and just pride to play for. Up came the mighty Kenny and gave a demonstration of his recent improved form again with a comprehensive win over Carl at 2. To finish the night off Dan and Peter at number 1. A really hard fought match with some monster rallies, Dan managed to get off to a flyer going 2-0 up. Peter had other ideas however and cutting out his unforced errors took control of the match and came back strong taking 3 games on the bounce to take the match 3-2.
Well played Hawkhurst bit too strong on the night. |
