Good game but Tom a little too strong in the end. Meanwhile Bill and Marc were having a mammoth battle at 3 with it coming down to a deciding 5th game which Bill just managed to get over the line 10-8. 2-0 up and up came the number 2s of Dan and Nick. Despite going 7-0 up Dan managed to nod off and lose the first game??? He woke up though and comfortably took the next 3 to put Black Lion 3-0 up. I had the dubious honour of playing Robin at 4 and his lethal lob serves....a tight first game that I managed to tin at game ball end 10-9 to Robin. The lob serves finally broke me and Robin finished the match a comfortable winner. Up last was James and Tim at 5. James pulled to an early 2-0 lead but Tim rallied well getting it back to 2-2. Into the fifth and James youthful legs came into effect and he saw the match out to put Black Lion 4-1 winners. Great matches and excellent company....looking forward to the return leg in the new year.
