| Report: | Rodmersham vs Biddenden

It was a strange night at Rodmersham. The bar was packed with people clearly not participating in dry January and Sam paid his match fees on time – in cash!
John vs Mark
In a fast paced match, John got off to a quick start but Mark made his way back into the game with some accurate short balls, especially on the backhand side. Some long rallies, a good battle.

Rodmersham 1-0 Biddenden
Martin vs Ben
Didn’t get to see any of this match, but from all accounts it was hot and bouncy (just how martin likes it, werhey). Martin getting stronger each week.

Rodmersham 2-0 Biddenden
Gary vs Mark
A good start by Mark, playing some good tidy squash, and went 2-0 up. In the third, Gary started playing some good floaty lobs and trademark volley drop winners and went 7-4 and 10-8 up. However, Mark dug in deep and clawed his way back and closed out the match 3-0.

Rodmersham 2-1 Biddenden
Tom vs Pat
Again, didn’t see a lot of this match, but sounds like Tom’s training is paying off as he took the first 2 games 11-4. Pat hit 5 backhand cross court nicks to take a lead in the third, but Tom came from behind and closed out the match, not before questioning Sam’s final call of the night on match ball. A clear no let by all accounts – except tom.

Rodmersham 3-1 Biddenden
Sam vs Chris
Final match and arguably the best of the night. Some great hitting from Chris and was up all the way in the first, but Sam scrambled really well to sneak it 11-9. A fast start in the second game saw Sam win more comfortably, but the third game Chris flew out of the blocks with some impressive winners. This meant sam had resort to his famous 2 wall boast, much to Chris’ annoyance. Chris had a couple of chances to close out the game, but some typical sam retrieving and grit saw him steal the last 13-11.

Rodmersham 4-1 Biddenden
News got out early that Kelly had made Chicken & Broccoli so everyone was showered and ready in the bar in record time – no leftovers at all. Talk at the table of meals from years gone by and some quality pranks we had all fallen for. Just don’t bet Sam you can crack 3 eggs on his head or let Martin weigh your boobs!!!
